ACID WASH

When pool or spa is completely drained and MURIATIC ACID is applied to the surfaces to PREPARE THE SURFACES FOR REFINISHING, although most replastering people use a primer coat, nowadays, instead. Also used to remove stains from surfaces by ETCHING (removing a portion of) THE SURFACE FINISH until the stain is gone, by removing the plaster from under the stain. Unfortunately, the now POROUS surface usually stains again within weeks and then the finish has been made to feel like your flesh has been drug over a rasp! Also used to clean tile, decks and driveways, but with today's cartridge filter materials, Acid should NEVER be used on a filter component!
